Business as usual for Mortascreen
25 May 2012: Mortascreen, the UK’s leading deceased suppression file, has been quick to reassure its customers that it’s business as usual following the collapse of Millennium ADMP which had previously licensed the file from Smee & Ford, part of Wilmington Group Plc.
Having fallen into administration, the business and certain assets of Millennium were acquired last week by Wilmington last week for a cash consideration of £465,000. During the year ended 30 June 2011, the Millennium business made profits before interest, tax and
amortisation of £400,000 on turnover of £5.9m and had gross assets of approximately £900,000.
Mortascreen Product Development Director Karen Pritchard told Database Marketing: “We don’t foresee any change, other than in a very positive way. We are still delighted to be part of Wilmington Group who have been the owners of Mortascreen for many years. Having the backing of a PLC organisation will ensure continued investment in, and development of, Mortascreen. We’d like to assure our clients that it is very much business as usual, and of our best and continued attention at all times.”
Charles Brady, CEO of Wilmington, added: "We are pleased to have been able to rescue one of our trading partners and secure the continuing employment of their staff. For Wilmington the acquisition represents an opportunity not only to secure the continued support for the activities of Smee & Ford but to benefit from the services which Millennium provides to a number of major insurance companies".
