Newsweaver achieves ISO 27001 security certification

4 Sep 2012: Newsweaver, the email marketing software provider, has announced that it has achieved the internationally recognised ISO 27001 security certification. The company has confirmed that its Information Security Management System (ISMS) has been certified to the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Standard. This announcement makes Newsweaver one of the only Email Service Providers in Europe to have achieved this prestigious certification.

Sean Griffin, Newsweaver’s Chief Technology Officer, stated: “Newsweaver has always been committed to the protection of customer data. By attaining this standard we have demonstrated the level of importance we place on security and our continued dedication to ensuring the highest levels of security are always maintained”.

To achieve the standard Newsweaver identified any potential risks to their information security and developed, and continue to develop, measures to ensure that these risks are addressed and neutralised. The announcement comes after a detailed and thorough audit process conducted by accredited external, independent auditor, Certification Europe. The objective of the standard itself is to provide a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an Information Security Management System.

Newsweaver founder and CEO Andrew O’Shaughnessy said: “Data security is of paramount importance both to us and to our customers. Attaining the highest security accreditation, the ISO 27001, is a fantastic achievement for Newsweaver and shows our continued commitment to security and data protection.”
