Targeting platform nugg.ad launches Data Days event
6 Jul 2012: Europe’s largest targeting platform, nugg.ad, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL, has announced the first in a series of 'Data Days' for autumn of this year in Berlin on 1st and 2nd October. The focus will be on the fascination with big data, algorithms and innovation.
The company says Data Days 2012 is intended to "herald the start of a critical discussion on relevance, data protection and their consequences for our digital society".
The conference will also see the launch of nugg.ad's new business incubator program to drive innovation and promote creativity within the data sector.
“The internet has always been a data-driven medium and data handling has always been nugg.ad’s core business”, says Stephan Noller, CEO of nugg.ad. “Data Days are not so much about advertising as about providing relevant services, aimed at the development of users confident with the use of his data. We look forward to hearing from high calibre international speakers on many new and creative ideas.”
The Data Conference on 1st October will feature high-calibre international speakers tackling diverse topics ranging from Relevance and Innovation, to Data and Privacy. The over-riding theory is that data is not only key for the advertising industry, but also changes the wider world. These changes will bring numerous challenges and opportunities for civil society.
On the second Data Day, 2nd October, nugg.ad will offer start-ups and creative minds the opportunity to present their data business ideas in the context of a start-up competition, the “Data Pioneers”. If the data business idea fits in within the nugg.ad eco-system, the start-up company will be commissioned with the development of beneficial services that are relevant to the nugg.ad profile. The winners will have an opportunity to draw on nugg.ad’s expertise and will also have the nugg.ad infrastructure available to them. They will be given more than just financing, in the form of a permanent incubator program.
